MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan women's basketball head coach Troy Mattson announced the signing of Elizabeth Lutz and Allissa Willa to National Letters of Intent Thursday afternoon.
"We are excited to have Liz and Allissa join our program," Mattson said. "They are both very athletic and have an incredible will to succeed."
Lutz, a 5-foot-9 guard from Marshall, Wis., was named the Capitol South Conference Player of the Year as a senior after averaging 19.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
For her performance, Lutz was also selected to the Division 3 all-state first team, the ESPN Madison all-area first team and the Wisconsin State Journal all-area small schools first team.
Willa, a 6-foot forward from Wilson, Mich., was a first team all-conference pick as a junior at Bark River-Harris High School and as a senior at North Central High School.
During her senior campaign, Willa averaged 18 points, 11.1 rebounds, three steals and two blocks per game. As a junior, she captured all-U.P. and all-state honorable mention accolades.
Lutz and Willa will join early signees Amber Huebner and Lexi Smith in the incoming freshman class.
