ISHPEMING -- Cognition Brewery in Ishpeming is continuing its effort to help raise money for homeless pets.
A beer named after Thor the cat is now available. It's a Scandinavian stout with a hint of cardamom.
People won the right to name a beer after their pet in an auction to benefit UPAWS. A portion of the proceeds from sales of these brews will also help animals in need.
Jay Clancey is the owner of Cognition Brewery. He says, "When we're planning these beers of course we talk to the pet's owners and get the feel for what they're going for. We actually try to get a feel for the pet's personality and work that into the beer as well. So, it's a challenge but my brewers love it and so far we've been successful."
Thor the cat is the second of three brews that will be named after a pet.
The owner of the brewery is hoping people will donate to UPAWS even if they don't like beer.
