Forsyth EMS campaigning for new members

FORSYTH-- The Forsyth Township Emergency Medical Services Department is looking for new members. They need more trained professionals to respond when medical and other emergencies happen. There's even a recruiting campaign on Facebook.

Anthony Baez, the Director of Forsyth Township EMS says, "We become brothers and sisters. You see that on TV shows all the time where people act like that, but it's true. You get to know people very well. You get to see different parts of the township, different sides of people. You get to experience things that other people don't get to experience ever."

The Forsyth EMS team covers a large area that includes Gwinn and Sawyer. There are 16 volunteers already involved, but there's a constant need for new people.

There are two options for membership. The primary one requires 75 hours of commitment a month. And the other requires 25 hours a month.

Training is provided and everyone is paid when they respond to calls. If interested in joining, applications can be found at http://www.forsythtwpmi.org/employment.htm.
