FORSYTH TWP.--People living in or driving through Forsyth Township might notice some more trees in the area soon. Tonight, the township board unanimously passed a 50/50 share tree planting grant from an engineering firm the township works with periodically.

The trees will replace some old ones. Plus, help with the upkeep of the area.

Joe Boogren, Forsyth Township Supervisor says, "As you may have noticed on M-35 on the boulevard we have trees on the sides of the road and we got some planting to do there. We've also lost some trees in Peter Nordeen Park. Some of our aging pines over the last several years, last year one to a lightening strike. So, thinking for the future and just the general beautification of the township."

The board also decided on using the full budget of the grant, $3,000.
