UPDATED: Police investigating pitbull shot in head, left on side of road in Iron County

UPDATE (1/12 12:45 pm) - The Four Seasons Animal Hospital says the dog is in stable condition and doing well. No other information is available due to the ongoing investigation.

IRON COUNTY - Troopers at the Iron Mountain State Police Post are investigating an animal cruelty complaint that took place in the early hours of January 11.

An abandoned Pitbull was found in the area of Old 69 and M-69 in the Iron County area. The dog had been shot and suffered other injuries. The animal is currently being treated for its wounds at the Four Seasons Animal Hospital in Iron River.

The dog is approximately two years old and black in color with a white muzzle.
