MARQUETTE - Marquette Police say Lakeshore Boulevard between W. Fair Avenue and Hawley Street in the city of Marquette has been closed - and will remain closed until further notice - because of inclement weather and dangerous conditions.

The roads in the area affected are already iced over in sections due to excessive spray from waves along the shoreline.

The Marquette Police Department is asking that motorists not travel along this portion of roadway until the road is officially reopened.

Strong winds with gusts as high as 35 mph are expected as the Winter Storm Warning goes into effect in the area at 2 a.m. Sunday and remains in effect until Monday.

Additionally, total accumulations of snow may be in the 7 - 14 inch range, locally higher amounts are also possible, with ice accumulations of a light glaze expected.
