North Central's Jason Whitens signs with WMU

North Central star athlete Jason Whitens will wrap up his high school athletic career as one of the most accomplished athletes...ever. Now he's ready to take it to the next level.

Whitens made it official Friday, signing his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Western Michigan University to play basketball.

Whitens says he's excited about the next chapter and is relieved the recruiting process is complete.

Jason whitens, signed to WMU said, "Oh, it feels great. Like I said, its been a long process, you know, since my sophomore year just always having it on my mind. 'where am I going to be after I graduate? That's one of the scariest things you have to figure out as a senior in high school is where are you going to be next year at this time.. It just fit. I believe the coaches and the community and just the campus, it was everything I dreamt of and when I walked on there it just felt like home and that went a long way with me."

Whitens is also excited to continue excelling in the classroom. He plans to study business and marketing at Western Michigan.
