Korinne Griffith is originally from Woodstock, Illinois; the town’s claim to fame is being the backdrop of the movie “Groundhog Day”. After many years of Groundhog Day celebrations, Korinne moved to Marquette to attend Northern Michigan University. She graduated with a degree in Theatre and Entertainment Arts and Media Studies. Korinne spent a year after graduating working at the historic Goodman Theatre in downtown Chicago before deciding to move back to the Upper Peninsula.
With many generations of family from the U.P., Korinne has spent her life going between Illinois and Michigan. She loves to visit her grandparents out east in Trout Lake, Michigan. Korinne is also very interested in history, she has a plan to visit as many historic sites in the U.P. as she can. If you have travel suggestions, email her!
Korinne has spent her life very active in the theatre. She has performed in over 40 plays and musicals and worked on crew in many other areas. She is a trained singer and actor and can definitely dance…a little bit. She has also worked professionally in the Chicago theatre through college and post-graduation. She hopes to make her mark as the Local 3 resident ‘Art and Theatre’ expert.
Korinne is very excited and grateful to be working with such a fantastic team at Local 3 News.”
