On Thursday, September 24, officers from the Ironwood Public Safety Department and the Michigan State Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle at a local gas station. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team (GIANT) conducted interviews, which led to a search of the suspect’s premises. The search resulted in seizure of methamphetamine, a firearm, ammunition and marijuana.
The following day four people were arraigned in Gogebic County Court. There charges are as follows.
Donovan H. Payeur, 30, of Ironwood, was charged with one count of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, which is a felony punishable by 20 years in prison and/or $25,000.
He is also charged with one count of possession of firearms by a felon and one count of possession of ammunition by a felon, both of which are felonies punishable by 5 years and/or $5,000.
Payeur’ is also being charged with one count of possession of an analog of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $100,000 at 10%.
Kristina M. Payeur, 29, of Ironwood, was charged with one count of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Her bail was set at $50,000 at 10%.
Ryan F. Reinhard, 28, of Ironwood, was charged with two felony counts including possession of weapons-ammunition by a felon and one count of use of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $50,000 at 10%.
James C. Engles, 36, of Ironwood was charged with two felonies, which includes one count of possession of methamphetamine. His bail was set at $25,000 at 10%.
The matter is still under investigation and officials say additional arrests are probable.
