Nine Delta, Schoolcraft, and Dickinson County residents attended commencement activities on Lake Superior State University’s campus in Sault Ste. Marie this past Saturday, even though they didn’t take their classes in the Soo.
The Radio Results Network reports that these students were able to earn their bachelor’s degrees by taking classes in Escanaba on Bay College’s campus. These students are from the Escanaba Regional Center, and they completed their degree requirements either last December or this May or they will complete them this August.
Earning bachelor’s degrees, and attending the LSSU commencement were: Sonia Harris of Cooks, Jamie Strong of Escanaba, Ashleigh Young of Gladstone, Olivia Barron of Wells, Brittany Deno of Escanaba, Amanda Iverson of Escanaba, Brittany Buckland of Bark River, Jean Frankovich of Rapid River, and Patti Goudreau of Norway.
“Our students have worked hard for their bachelor degrees and deserve the pomp, ceremony, and recognition at commencement to celebrate their accomplishments. Congratulations to these students as well as those who earned their degrees but were unable to attend,” said Heidi Baumgartner, the Director for LSSU’s Escanaba Regional Center.
