LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA — According to an article from an Indiana newspaper, Kelly Marie Cochran pleaded guilty today to murdering her husband.

The Times of Northwest Indiana reports that Cochran smothered Jason Cochran at their Hobart, Indiana home on Feb. 20, 2016, as revenge.

According to the Times, Cochran will serve 65 years in prison for the murder – consecutive to a life sentence in Michigan she received in May of 2017 in relation to the death of Christopher Regan of Iron River.

The nearly two week trial in regard to Regan’s death took place in February of 2017. Kelly testified that on October 14, 2014, she and her husband planned Regan’s death by luring him to their home in Caspian. Kelly’s story was that she and Regan began having sex, while Jason was waiting in the basement with a .22 caliber rifle. While they were having sex, Jason shot Regan in the head.

Regan’s body was dismembered and dumped into a wooded area off of the Pentoga Trail in Iron County.

The Times reports that Kelly said she murdered her husband as revenge for Regan’s death.

“I still hate him, and yes, it was revenge, I evened the score,” she told a Hobart police detective.

The state of Indiana went against death penalty or a life sentence against Kelly in exchange for today’s guilty plea – and will not file any additional charges against Kelly in Lake County.
