One woman was injured after a crash in Chocolay Township this morning around 10:45.

A van driven by a L’Anse man was going south and ran into the side of a car entering US-41 from Silver Creek Road.

The car was driven by a woman from Lansing who is an employee of the State of Michigan.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that the van ran a red light at the intersection. The man driving was cited and uninjured.

The woman was trapped in her vehicle. The Chocolay Township Fire Department used the jaws of life to extricate her.

She was transported to UPHS-Marquette and treated for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
