A group is forming in Delta County to promote the building of non-motorized trails in the county, and link them together.
Organizer Tony Lambert tells the Radio Results Network that there’s a lot of people and organizations that have been working on trail projects, but they are all separate and it’s not being coordinated.
“I really think there needs to be a group that can help to collaborate all of these great ideas, and put them together into a master plan,” Lambert told RRN News. “So anybody can go and enjoy these trails, whether you’re a biker, a runner, a hiker, a dog walker, cross country skier. Let’s go make some awesome trails so that we can see this awesome county of ours.”
The City of Gladstone built a paved pathway along Little Bay de Noc last fall, and the City of Escanaba is working on extending trails within city limits. But Lambert says the group wants to see even more trails promoted in the county.
They will meet at the Terrace Bay Inn at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday to talk about it.
