Effort to have U.P. girl named Michigan Girls High School Basketball MVP


Jaylyne Lindemann, a stand-out athlete at Baraga Area Schools, is part of a competition to decide the Michigan Girls High School Basketball Most Valuable Player statewide competition. 

Baraga followed Sophomore Jaylyne Lindemann to a pair of regional wins to reach the Division 4 Girls High School Basketball quarterfinals.

She scored 18 points with 4 blocked shots in a 57-42 championship game win over Munising after scoring 15 points in Baraga’s 45-40 semifinal win over Stephenson. Jaylyne averaged 10.4 points a game in regular season play.

Jaylyne plays travel basketball for Level UP Express in the off season and puts in many hours on her own in the gym , but not only pushes herself on the court has a 3.98 GPA in the class room.
