A former detective who helped investigate the Kelly Cochran case spoke with Local 3 News Wednesday.

Jeremy Ogden is retired from the Hobart Police Department. He investigated both the murders of Christopher Regan and Jason Cochran.

Kelly Cochran pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing her husband in 2016.

She reportedly smothered Jason at their Hobart, Indiana home as revenge for Regan’s murder.

Kelly Cochran will serve 65 years in prison for Jason’s murder. It will be served consecutively with a life sentence she’s currently serving in Michigan for Regan’s 2014 murder.

Ogden says, “I think Kelly has been given plenty of time by the court system and I hope that she uses it wisely and will bring all the people closure that deserve it.”

He adds, “I think it’s important she accepted responsibility. Nothing can ever bring Jason back to the Cochran family. However, this will give them some level of closure.”
