ISHPEMING – Members of UPPCO gathered this afternoon for a public forum.
The informational event is one of a four part series evaluating how to best serve future energy needs of people in the U.P. Along with gathering information, workers were able to answer consumer questions.
“It’s not uncommon for people to go to the wall, hit the light switch and think if the light comes on everything’s good,” said Brett French, Vice President of Business Development and Communications with UPPCO. “But there’s a lot more that goes into delivering that energy into your homes and businesses. We wanted to provide people with the opportunity to learn more about that.”
UPPCO says they are expecting typical residential bills to decrease by about 6 percent, starting this month. The fourth and final forum will be held Thursday from 3 and 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Munising.
