MARQUETTE– Eight months ago, former Travel Marquette Community Relations and Event Marketing Coordinator, Anna Dravland survived a rare stroke at the age of 34.
She’s in the long process of recovery now and fundraiser is being held for her tomorrow from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewery Company. There will be food, drinks, raffles and education on the impact of a stroke.
“Kinda, little more background on what it’s really like for people after they have a stroke and also about their caregivers because it really changed my life, but it also changed my family’s life,” said Anna.
Anna says while she may appear fine and she’s improving, she still lives with constant pain on her right side and she bruises when she touches things. This past weekend was her birthday and had to spend it in the hospital because when she gets sick, she shows stroke symptoms. The fundraiser will also be a birthday celebration for her, too.
