ESCANABA, Mich. (WJMN) – Earlier this year, Bay College welcomed Dr. Nerita Hughes as the next president of the college. We invited Dr. Hughes to our studio to learn more about her and her vision for the school.

What kind of mindset do you need to be the president of a college?
During your first few months, what are you hearing as far as common themes or areas of concern?
How do you see yourself as a role model?
Dr. Hughes was among four finalists to visit the Escanaba and Iron Mountain campuses and be interviewed by the Board of Trustees and meet with employees and community members. She was selected unanimously by the Bay College Board of Trustees to become the College’s next president.
