MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP– The Marquette Charter Township DDA held their fourth and final informational meeting about expanding tonight.

The idea began in 2015 and since then, the board has gone through exploring options and proposals.
Organizers say the majority of the feedback they’ve received has been positive.

Randy Jirard, Township Manager says, “The DDA’s mission basically is to protect property values and with the recent tax regulation decisions and with the local state actions taking properties off of the tax roll values are deteriorating, they’re lessening. And the purpose is to keep those values high and that’s the purpose for expanding the DDA is to protect those properties.”

A public hearing on this is scheduled for March 20th.
