BARABOO, Wis. (AP) — A father found guilty of killing his infant twins in southern Wisconsin has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Jurors in Sauk County returned a guilty verdict Tuesday for David Yates on two counts of first-degree intentional homicide.Yates continued to deny he killed his 5-week old twins, Tyler and Savannah, during sentencing Tuesday.A police officer testified Monday he went to Yates’ Baraboo home in April 2008 after the twins’ mother, Susan Winbun, couldn’t get Yates to answer the door. Officer Mike Pichler said he found the 48-year-old father asleep and then later discovered the twins under a bed.
