MARQUETTE — There was a Business After Hours event tonight featuring the United Way.
Dozens of people came out to honor many of the organizations that took part in this year’s campaign. United Way raised almost four hundred thousand dollars. Donations were collected to ease the load for those organizations that can’t campaign on their own.
“People should realize about the United Way organizations, they’ve probably run into all the time because somebody in their family is probably benefiting from it, whether it’s the senior center in the west end, whether it’s Bay Cliff up in Big Bay, it’s going to impact virtually everybody in the community in someway,” said Glenn Sarka, Campaign Co-Chair for the United Way.
The United Way Member Agencies acknowledged those who donated time and money to this year’s campaign by handing out prizes.
Each prize was given away by a member from one of the many organizations affiliated with United Way.
Donations are still welcome and for more information regarding United Way click here.
