People learned new information about the Eagle Mine during a community forum in Humboldt Township today.

Interest in exploration will be expanded into the Baraga and Houghton County areas.

Plus, there was an update about Eagle East.

Matt Johnson is with Eagle Mine. He says, “Over the past two years we’ve been developing a new underground tunnel to the Eagle East ore body. We expect to reach the Eagle East ore body by the end of the year and blend that new ore with existing Eagle ore that we’ve been mining since 2014.”

Those in attendance had the chance to ask questions during the presentation.

Another thing people learned is that 82 percent of those employed at Eagle Mine are from the Upper Peninsula.
