Missing Michigan woman’s body found after search in Mackinac County

MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich. (WJMN) – Just over a week after a Michigan woman’s car was found abandoned in Mackinac County, authorities say they have found her body.

Michigan State Police report they conducted a ground and water search for Channelle Dennard in Moran Township, Mackinac County on Friday. Dennard was reported missing from Southfield on October 27th. Her car was found along on US-2 on the 28th.

Her body was found, no foul play is expected.

Assisting agencies include United States Coast Guard, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, Mackinac County 911 Coordinator and EMD Director, United States Border Patrol, Mackinac County E.M.S., Mackinac County Medical Examiner, and St. Ignace Fire Department.

The Michigan State Police have released information about a 31-year-old woman who has been reported missing.

31-year-old Detroit resident Channelle Dennard was last believed to be in Mackinac County on Wednesday.

Dennard’S 2011 Chevrolet Equinox was found abandoned in Mackinac County on US-2 near Association Road.

She is 5 foot 4 inches, with black hair and brown eyes.

Dennard was last seen wearing knee high black or brown boots with blue jeans, glasses, and a denim jacket.

She has a scar on her left arm, a butterfly tattoo on her chest, tattoo on her right shoulder that “Nelle boo”, and letter M tattoo on right back shoulder.

As of Monday, November 2nd, State Police say there are no new leads in the case and the investigation is still ongoing.
