ESCANABA — OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group is partnering with Escanaba Area Public Schools for the annual Eskymo 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m.
This is a free and non-competitive event. It won’t be timed.
“Escanaba Area Public Schools has taken the lead on planning this event for our community and we are happy to support it, as it is a great opportunity to get people moving outside while enjoying their families and our beautiful lake shore,” said Lindsey Stearns, Community Relations Specialist at OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group.
In addition to the 5K run/walk, there will be free water, healthy snacks and face painting available. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. in Ludington Park across from the band shell.
The 5K run/walk will begin at 10:00 a.m.
“We are encouraging families to participate together,” said Paula Morrison, student social worker at Escanaba Area Public Schools, “Strollers, wagons and bikes are allowed for children up to 8 years of age, but for safety reasons, we ask that there are no dogs, rollerblades or skateboards.”
The event will take place rain or shine.
