MARQUETTE TWP. – An event will be held this weekend to honor Tysen Benz, and it will be at his favorite place.

Marquette Mountain is hosting the Spaghetti benefit dinner. Money raised will support Tysen’s family and their efforts to address cyber bullying. There will also be informational booths, which Marquette Mountain General Manager Jesie Melchiori–a parent herself– says will be beneficial for kids and parents.

“(Parents) think that things are going great and (their kids are) struggling with things internally and things at that level that we are unaware of,” she said. “Being able to have those information booths and the open dialogue of it all is going to be huge for, not only the youth, but the parents and the community.”

The event is Saturday at the mountain. Doors open at 4:00 PM, with a spaghetti benefit dinner planned for 5:00. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.

If you have any questions, or would like to donate to the cause, call (906)360-7069 or email tysenstrong@yahoo.com. You can also visit the Prayers to Tysen Facebook page  for up-to-date information.
