ESCANABA — The largest display of logging equipment in the Midwest will be held in Escanaba starting Thursday.
It’s the Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo. According to the Radio Results Network, it’s being put on by the Great Lakes Timber Producer’s Association.
The event has been held for more than 70 years, including several times in Escanaba. The U.P. State Fairgrounds will be filled with more than 200 exhibitors, showcasing everything from log splitters to portable sawmills, compact tractors, and wood and pellet stove dealers.
The Expo runs from noon until 5 Thursday, from 8 until 5 on Friday, and from 8 until 1 on Saturday.
A “kickoff” event will run from 6 until 9 Thursday night inside the Miracle of Life Building on the fairgrounds.
