Motorists in Mackinac and Chippewa counties along M-123 near Trout Lake can expect construction in that area from Monday, May 13, through Friday, Aug. 23.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) project of about $2.6 million is to resurface 21.6 miles of M-123 from I-75 to H-40 in Mackinac and Chippewa counties. The work includes crack filling, culvert replacement, chip sealing, gravel shoulder repairs, and pavement markings. This project includes a two-year pavement warranty.

The work will require intermittent lane closures under flag control. One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained at all times. An 11-foot lane width restriction will be in effect for this project.
MDOT says this project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway.
