MARQUETTE — If you drive or live along Wright Street in Marquette, you may notice a subtle buzzing sound coming from the Board of Light and Power.

The BLP Board held a special meeting Tuesday to discuss the sounds coming from their generators and what they plan to do to prevent these sounds from continuing.

Tom Tourville, Board Chairman, Board of Light and Power said, “We discovered that the low frequency noise coming from the building was way stronger then what was originally was projected. So the whole goal of this project, to me, is to be good community citizens if you will and mitigate the noise that is coming from the building.”

The board passed the proposal unanimously for the MEC Sound Retrofit Project.

The solution will take time due to construction delays.
