Marquette, Mich. – UP Health System – Marquette’s Internist and Intensivist, Nicole Alexander, MD, has joined the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine UP Campus as an internal medicine community clerkship director. In addition to caring for patients at UPHS, Dr. Alexander will now also work with MSU College of Human Medicine students in their training at the UP Campus based in Marquette.

Dr. Alexander will work alongside these medical students during the internal medicine portion of their rotations. Her experience will provide insight and training into critical care medicine.

“I have been fortunate to watch Dr. Alexander teach medical students and residents,” said Dr. Stuart Johnson, chief executive officer and community assistant dean. “They walk away from each encounter with a new appreciation for medicine and the gifted mentor they have in her.”

Board certified in critical care and internal medicine, Dr. Alexander has been caring for patients at UPHS since 2007. She completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College before earning her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University. She completed her internal medical training at University of Arizona with a fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Alexander is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys art, photography, piano, biking, hiking and anything outdoors. She resides in Marquette with her family and their dog.
