Marquette will become home to the Upper Peninsula’s second Scouts BSA Troop for Girls.
Young women grade 5 to age 17 and their parents are welcome to join as members and volunteers.
The new Scouts BSA Troop will host their Open House on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30PM inside of Lakeview Arena’s Citizens Forum.
The Boy Scouts of America is proud to partner with Rippling River Resort as the sponsor of the new Troop. Young women who join will have the opportunity to advance to the rank of Eagle Scout.
For more than five decades, the Boy Scouts of America has been welcoming young women into its Venturing and Exploring programs. And coming to Marquette, the BSA is further expanding that legacy by welcoming young women into Scouts BSA.
Though Scouts BSA, more young people than ever before will receive the benefits of camaraderie, confidence, resilience, trustworthiness, courage and kindness though a time-tested program that has been proven to build character and leadership.
Scouting in the Upper Peninsula serves 952 Cub Scouts, 421 in Scouts BSA and 37 in Venturing.
