MARQUETTE– Pathways Community Mental Health held their third annual Marquette County “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” rally today.
Dozens of people met at Marquette Commons for a one mile walk in the downtown area. The agency says creating a community where individuals feel safe and free to seek help what the rally is all about.
“It’s really about combating the stigma around looking for help with things like mental health issues, developmental disabilities or substance abuse disorders,” said Ashley Jenema, Clinical Programs Supervisor, Pathways Community Mental Health.
There was also live entertainment, informational booths, community speakers and healthy snacks at the event. Pathways serves adults and children in Alger, Delta, Luce and Marquette counties.
