MARQUETTE COUNTY — May is skin cancer awareness month and as a reminder to ‘take care of the skin you’re in’ as we move into the warmer weather and sunny days, two new billboards went up today in Marquette County.

The billboards are sponsored by ‘Just Believe’, a local non-profit dedicated to spreading awareness of the signs of skin cancer.

“They’re going to have kids and sunscreen dispensers on them. I think they’re cute. It’s just to remind everybody that sunscreen is important,” says Delight Hill, founder of ‘Just Believe’.

The billboards can be seen at the Crossroads Park and Ride in Marquette and in Ishpeming by Hilltop RV. ‘Just Believe’ has also donated another three sunscreen dispensers, which provide free sunscreen at popular outdoor locations across the Upper Peninsula.
