UPDATE: According to the Radio Results Network, the Ishpeming City Council voted 3-2 in favor of a motion to bill the Cody family $2,500 instead of the $18,709 bill they received this past winter.

The following is from a previous story Local 3 News put together

Ashley Cody found a pipe that broke in the crawl space of her home. The water went into a drain and her basement was not impacted. She faced a more than $18,000 water bill.

The issue was addressed at a previous Ishpeming City Council meeting.

Ashley Cody, Ishpeming Resident said, “I feel like tonight we were hopeful for a resolution. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. But, they made it a point to come in and reach out to us and let us know that we are going to be able to sit down to discuss further the importance of this catastrophic water loss and our situation.”

The total water loss was over a million gallons.
