IRON MOUNTAIN — The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center hosted an event in Iron Mountain regarding the VA Mission Act.
Dozens of veterans and family members came out to listen to the presentation and ask questions about the new program.
VA medical center leadership discussed the details of the program, including requirements and new accessibility.
Brad Nelson, Public Affairs Officer, Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center said, “This is being implemented on June 6th, this next week in 2019. So if veterans have any questions on that date or after, they can discuss this with their VA provider. If they are eligible or not for it or they can call our facility, our Iron Mountain VA Medical Center call center.“
The VA Medical Center also introduced details about the new community urgent care benefit, which allows Veterans to seek urgent care at non-VA facilities.
