NORWAY– Are you looking for something to do this summer? You may want to consider joining a volleyball league.

The Thirsty Whale Bar and Grill in Norway starts their season tomorrow night. Co-ed teams will take on each other Tuesday and Wednesday nights in sand volleyball for the next twelve weeks. The bar says they’re the only one in their area that has sand courts to do this. It’s been going on for years … But there wasn’t always sand.

Paula Pieropon, Thirsty Whale bar and Grill Owner says, “Oh I think it’s an awesome event and the kids just, they have a ball. We have all ages that play. We started out at the bar for 39 years. We started playing volleyball in the gravel. I’m gonna say at least 25 years ago. “

The bar will also be holding a volleyball tournament this Sunday at noon, with proceeds going toward Holy Spirit Catholic School in Norway.

The league’s season ends August 16th.
