There was an informational meeting held tonight about a project that will build two roundabouts in Marquette Township.
Both roundabouts will be on US-41.
One is at the intersection where Walmart and Target are located. The other is at the intersection where Meijer and Best Buy reside.
People will still be able to drive along US-41 while the roundabouts are being built.
Al Anderson with MDOT says, “Our design team has done an extensive amount of pre-work here to make sure that this is the right fix for this area. Roundabouts do work very well operationally for the highway and for the side roads as well as they also improve safety.”
The two roundabouts will be built at the same time.
Construction is scheduled to start April 15th. The roundabouts should be done before the end of the year.
Median and other work would be finished in 2020.
