M-26 repair project near Mass City starts Oct. 8

Motorists in Ontonagon County on M-26 near Mass City should be aware of the following Michigan Department of Transportation project set to begin October 8.                                

The $600,000 project to repair settling of the westbound lane and shoulder of M-26 south of Mass City is expected to be finished before the end of the month.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
The work will require closing M-26 from Oct. 11 through 23. Westbound traffic will be detoured via M-38 to US-45 then back to M-26. The route will be reversed for eastbound traffic.

SAFETY BENEFITS:
This project is designed to prevent further settling and extend the lifespan of the roadway.
