TOWN OF SILVER CLIFF, Wis. (WFRV) – The DNR is investigating an incident involving a black bear in Marinette county.

 

It happened to couple staying in a cabin in the town of Silver Cliff.

   

The husband, Gerre Ninneman was run down by the bear which began to bite and claw him. His wife, Marie saved him by grabbing a shotgun and hitting the bear over the head with it, causing the bear to let Gerre go.

 

The bear was eventually put down by a Marinette County Sheriff’s Deputy.

   
It’s body is being taken to a lab in Madison.Local 5’s Donald Robinson reports.
