DELTA COUNTY — The Delta County Board of Commissioners has announced the hire of T.J Reid as its next Airport Manager, pending a successful pre-employment physical.
Reid will replace Kelly Smith, who will be retiring as Delta County Airport Manager in May. Reid previously served as the Deputy Director of Cheyenne (Wyoming) Regional Airport, and as the Airport Manager of the Augusta (Kansas) Municipal Airport.
He began his aviation career as an Airport Operations Specialist for Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, Colorado.
Reid spent the last two years outside of aviation, as the Compliance Manager for a medical facility in California.
T.J holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Wyoming, and a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is currently licensed as a Commercial Pilot, a Certified Flight Instructor, and has previously been certified as both an Accredited Firefighter and Fire Instructor.
Reid will begin on April 2nd, with current manager Kelly Smith training him until her retirement date.
