MARQUETTE – A graduate of Marquette Senior High School joined an elite group this afternoon.
Tony Retaski, a 1977 MSHS grad, was inducted as the newest member of the A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence. The criteria: each honoree must have distinguished him or herself in a chosen occupation or profession; demonstrated service to others through commitment to public or community service; and demonstrated his or her time and contributions to philanthropy for the betterment of mankind.
Said Retaskie, “A couple of months ago I was notified about this award and it was just truly an honor and I just couldn’t believe when they called and said, ‘You’re on the wall.’ Several years ago, when I was on the school board, we started the wall, the A. Felch Pendill Wall of Fame, so it’s really an honor.”
Retaski is the 12th member of the Wall of Excellence. And the selection committee is seeking nominations for next year’s induction. Applications for nominees can be found here.
