NMU students preparing free tax returns

MARQUETTE — Accounting and finance students from NMU are available to help people with their taxes.

They can file state and federal returns for people who make about $50,000 a year or less.

It’s completely free and you don’t need an appointment.

You can find them on the second floor of the University Center near the skywalk to Gries Hall.

Joseph Roberts is one of the NMU students and he says, “It’s really fulfilling to give back to the community and help everyone while also being able to connect all the theories that you talk about in class and actually put into work and see how it all comes together.”

The students are there on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. through April 12.

They won’t be there for the week of spring break, though.

People can also just stop in to have a question answered.
