MARQUETTE, MI – Northern Michigan University was the host of an annual College Fair this evening. Representatives from about 40 colleges and universities were present at NMU. High school juniors, seniors and their parents were invited to the event to talk with representatives about academic programs.
“This is a really good opportunity to stop and talk to an admissions representative for maybe the first time,” said Gina Lombardini, Assistant Director of Admissions at Northern Michigan University. “Maybe they’ve heard the name of the school before but they maybe don’t even know where it is. So they can stop and talk to a rep, ask them if they have the programs that they’re interested in. What is the cost? What are the opportunities for financial aid? What do students do at your school?”
Some schools in attendance were Central Michigan University, Western Michigan University and Bay College. Students from several U.P. school districts were present, including Superior Central, Gwinn, Ishpeming, Marquette, Munising and Negaunee.
