Special Olympics 2020 Winter Games


MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN) – Special Olympics Michigan Area 36 hosted the 2020 Winter Games Saturday which features athletes from across the Upper Peninsula in snowshoeing, alpine and cross country skiing.

Opening ceremonies featured music and a check presentation from the Knights of Columbus before the athletes started competing.

Saturday’s competition is the regional finals before some the athletes will qualify for Special Olympics State Games near Traverse City in February.
