HOUGHTON — People at Michigan Tech are busy getting ready for the 95th Winter Carnival. This year’s theme is Snow Cascades Across the Decades.

Tonight, is the all-nighter event. Students are putting the finishing touches on their snow statues.

An elephant, a world war two era plane and a hamburger are just some of the creative statues this year.

Jesse Boehm is a Michigan Tech student. He says, “It kind of brings unity throughout the school and everybody gets to be a part of it. So, I think that’s pretty cool. Plus, everybody outside can come take a look at it.”

Upcoming events include student skits tomorrow night at  7, broomball will be played on the outdoor courts all through Winter Carnival and there’s a torchlight parade down Mont Ripley Ski Hill and fireworks on Saturday night.
