Two women injured in crash

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain Fire Department and the Iron Mountain Police Department were dispatched to a two car personal injury accident at the intersection of US-2 and Ridgeview.

 The accident occurred at 3:52 yesterday. An east bound vehicle on US-2 stopped for the red light in the intersection rather than before the stop line.

The vehicle that was stopped in the intersection was struck by a vehicle pulling onto US-2 attempting to turn west bound from the Walmart side of the intersection.

The 33-year-old female driver of the vehicle stopped in the intersection from Iron Mountain as well as her 21-year-old female passenger also from Iron Mountain received minor injuries in the accident.

The 65-year-old female driver of the vehicle pulling onto US-2 also from Iron Mountain was uninjured. The 33- year-old female was cited for the red light violation.

Both vehicle received heavy damage as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
