The United Way of Marquette County has introduced this year’s campaign co-chairs: Natasha Lantz and Glenn Sarka.
Lantz has a long history in Upper Peninsula for bringing educational opportunities to communities in areas of health and nutrition, working many years at the Marquette Food Co-op and with the local farming community.
Sarka has a legal background, and in addition to serving as Assistant Prosecutor in Marquette County, he spent several years overseas, working on legal reform issues in such countries as Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He is now in private practice in Marquette.
This year’s fundraising campaign kicks off today with a luncheon event attended by many community leaders and donors, as well as the United Way’s media partners, who contribute a great deal of publicity for the good of the community.
The Co-chairs have set a campaign goal at $400,000, but hope to raise much more this year. Letters, pledges and campaign materials will be mailed and dropped off to individuals and businesses all over Marquette County offering everyone the opportunity to join the cause.
Campaign Coordinator, Sue Minckler, and/or the co-chairs will be happy to schedule a visit to any workplace or organization that would like a 15 minute presentation to learn about the United Way of Marquette County.
