UPDATE– According to Escanaba Public Safety, the complaint was investigated and it was determined that the threat that were made and credible.
The student was taken into custody and was evaluated by Pathways mental health professional. Once the mental health evaluation was completed the suspect was lodged at Bay Pines.
The investigation is ongoing.
ESCANABA — A letter was sent home to parents and guardians of students at Escanaba High and Junior High Schools.
It says a student allegedly made a verbal threat against the school during a conversation this morning.
Law enforcement is investigating.
The district is immediately taking steps to make the building even more secure.
All doors will be locked during the school day.
People will be at the front and rear entrances to meet visitors and get them signed in for a pass.
