DELTA COUNTY — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be repairing several drainage structures near the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Escanaba.
Work also includes asphalt resurfacing. This is part of an $800,000 project to resurface 2.4 miles of US-2 from North 30th Street to Danforth Road. The project is covered by a two-year pavement warranty.
MDOT says the project is estimated to be complete by mid-November.
Motorists should expect lane closures and traffic shifts. A 10-foot width restriction will also be in effect in the work zone.
MDOT says the project will give a smoother driving surface and increased safety, in addition to extending the lifespan of the roadway.
