MICHIGAN (WJMN) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will waive the requirements for a fishing license on February 19 and 20 this year so people can try fishing.

The event has taken place since 1986 as a way to promote awareness of fishing. The DNR says to review ice safety tips before heading out. During the weekend they also waive the need for a recreation passport. You can find more information on the weekend online.
