Harris, MI – Just over a year ago Lindsey Weaver was wrapping up her collegiate golf career at Arizona. While in Tucson weaver was named 2-time WGCA All-American while leading the team in scoring for three straight seasons. Weaver now turns her attention to the professional game as she competes on the Symetra Tour.

Lindsey Weaver, golf professional said, “I guess the biggest transition I would say is just coming from college where everything is done for you to just doing everything on your own, it’s a lot more responsibility, but its been great so far. I mean, I love what i do and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”

Weaver along with the rest of the players on tour have the Island Resort Championship circled on their calendar.

“All the girls have told me this is one of their favorite events. This is one of the nicest places we play at on tour. The Island Resort is amazing and the casino is so cool and to be able to stay here and then walk outside the backdoor, to the right, you’re right at the golf course. It’s awesome and everyone I know looks forward to this tournament because you get treated so well here, especially compared to  the rest of the tournaments that we play, they roll out the red carpet for you here which is really special to all of us,” said Weaver.

Weaver an Ohio native, is excited to be back in the Midwest and even has ties to the region.

“It’s cool to play where the people around is so excited about it and I think that’s what’s most special about this tournament. So, I’m excited for that and just be in Harris. One of my aunts lives like 45 minutes away so she’s going to come out and watch. So it’s exciting to just be here I think,” added Weaver.

The Symetra Tour’s island resort championship is set to tee off on June 23rd.
